Depends on the cruise. But I would say that most of them sail close enough that you can see Cuba. If it were at night, then I assume you would see the lights.

I have seen it several times on the Western Carib. It has been during the day, you could see the outline of the island. I have never sailed by it at night. Lil' Lori

Have seen the lights from Cuba on a Western cruise before. I think we were leaving Key West heading to Cozumel. Make sure to take some binoculars, it is neat to see the passing ships at night.
