I am on a waitlist for a Jr. suite on a sold out ship. The RCCL agent had me put down a deposit for the room and put me on a waitlist...is this the best way to do it? What are my odds of actually getting the cabin I want if the ship sails in less than 6 months? I am hoping someone will cancel before their final payment is due in a couple of months...but realistically, what is the likelihood of this if all the cabins have deposits on them already? Thanks!
there are usually several cancellations, but whether that will allow you to get a cabin on board will depend on how many people have been waitlisted earlier than you. So, if you're on top of the list, chances are not too small. If there are dozens of people waitlisted before you, chances are probably slim.
ParrotTops, have your travel agent submit a request for space on the cruise agent digest. This is a network of 1,000s of cruise agents that communicate every day in a digest where they can get answers to questions and find blocked cruise space that other agents might be holding. There is a good chance that the ship isn't actually sold out, it is just that the cabins are being held for various groups. Your chances for getting confirmed are very good as the group option dates close in.
