Bub, we were on Carnival when we had the 2 hour computer delay in Miami. It is very rarely the cruise line's delay, almost always customs, immigration or the port authorities. Not sure what your plans are, but be aware that these things do happen.

I have not heard anything about RCL leaving Miami, are they?
From what I saw in this thread, it was my understanding that the only ship remaining in Miami as of 2011 would be the Majesty of the Seas.
Thanks for that link, I had not heard this. Wonder why they are doing this? We are able to drive to Tampa, although a very long drive from N.C, but have to fly to Miami. Ft. Lauderdale is not much different than Miami distance wise.

Thanks Penny,
Thinking about the Liberty in March, I know things happen and it's really not a big deal this time since we're not flying right in or out before or after the cruise.
Thanks, will be asking more questions after we book.
Thanks Dave for the beam info..very interesting..do you think they are measuring the cantilever hot tubs on the Freedom Class. Oh well looking forward to Explorer of the Seas...I am sure it will be big enough. In regards to Miami we have sailed from the Port of Miami three times since 2009..and have never had a problem either boarding or getting off the ship. However, I really did enjoy Port Everglades and the huge terminal for Oasis last month. Actually had RCI staff on the outside near the curb asking if they could be of any assistance. Yes please!
