If the complete mess we experienced at the Port of Miami last Sunday when we boarded Liberty is any indication of their ability to board and record passangers, it is no wonder RCL is leaving Miami. I'll report on the ship when we return, but I'll never sail from Miami again.
Sonny, I'm SOOO far away from Diamond status, it's like trying to make our a building in the middle of the ocean. There was a seperate line for suite guests, that just went to the front of the line; that was ok, but after that, we were shuttled to FIVE different stations (ten of us in total), before they could find a computer or a person to run one, that worked. Even then, I had to make two trips to the desk obn-board to straighten out how I was going to pay for the onboard expenses, to the point that I received a "nasty" note in our cabin that I had gone over $500 , and they wanted a deposit at the desk to continue using our sea pass cards, and this was after I had already given(on the dock) my RCL Visa card to cover all expenses. Basically, it was the lack of control and organization on the DOCK that set me off. The ship has been, and is great (seas have been a little rough-gaven't got the drunken sailor walk down yet). A little longer and narrower than Mariner, but still one of RCL best ships.
More later-my minutes are almost us.
Jim, sorry the port was a mess. The last time I sailed out of there, the computers were down when we returned. It, too, was a mess. We were about 2 hours delayed getting off the ship. Of course, getting off, I didn't mind at all I'm sure the people waiting to get on were none too happy.
We sailed out of Miami in April onboard the Navigator and had no issues at all. In 2007, we had a lot of issues boarding Liberty but that was because of some slow poke back to back cruisers that thought the world revolved around them! As far as I know, there were no computer issues either time.
I have not heard anything about RCL leaving Miami, are they?

Jim, I thought you were at Diamond status. The perk I was referring to is a joke. There are so many Diamond members that the lines are just as long as the lines for the people that don't have the special boarding perk.
Hopefully everything goes smoothly for us next Sunday .

Is this just a problem with RCL out of Miami? Do the other lines have problems there as well? If carnival has the same issues, may rethink my plans. Anyone know?
Sorry to differ, Cruise Fanatic, but Voyager Class ships are 1020' Long, and 157.5' beam. Freedom Class are 1112' long, and 126' beam; but then who really cares-it's still a cruise,
Sorry about that, the resource I used obviously has a serious error, as they have the Freedom Class ships larger.
