I know the Explorer just got out of drydock in January, so she should be in fine shape. The Enchantment is a smaller ship so you won't have the ice rink and the solarium pool and some of the other glitz that goes along with it. But you might get a better deal. I would compare the costs and the distance to the ports and see which one works for you!
What's more important to you; the destination or the amenities of the ship? The Enchantment is smaller than the Explorer, but the Enchantment is a nice size ship. Both ships have a solarium pool. The Explorer being much larger will have more passengers to disembark in port. You'll get off the Enchantment faster. I'd also look at the amount of time each spends in Bermuda.
Sonny!
I didn't even notice that we will be boarding the Explorer the day you get off! I can't believe we'll be sooo close. Why don't you book a back to back? My husband thinks I'm a little odd because I've looked at the photos of your family so often!
Just to clarify something in an earlier post in this thread. I was on the Enchantment back in October of 2009, and it does have a solarium pool.
Dwayne also pointed that out. Sorry for the misinformation, I'm not sure where I picked that up. Fortunately we have a crew of sharp experienced moderators who always set things staight.
