I just checked these prices the lowest catagory that RCCL is showing for this ship and date is for catagory Q inside guarantee, with port charges and gov fees it is running $1827.65/pp. Are you sure you checked the correct date? I went to the RCCL site also and the price is running the same as this.

Well this answers a lot of questions, you evidently live in India, I see where you have to use their India Travel Agency. I am not sure that the advise I gave you above is going to help you any. If the phone number I gave you does not work, the only other advise I can give is to call back to the agency you used and ask to speak to a supervisor and ask them to explain the price difference. Tell them you would like to speak directly with Royal Caribbean to get some answers also. US agents cant help you on this. Good luck and let us know what happens.

OK, I checked it out, first question, what catagory did you purchase, the 1099.00 price is for catagory 'Z' Guarantee. Is that the catagory you purchased or did you choose a stateroom. This is an inside special running which actually went into effect on the 18th of September. Here are the some of the rules of this special:
ALLOW BOOKINGS TO BE CONVERTED - YES
ALLOW GUARANTEE CABINS - YES
PASSENGERS 3/4 - NO
CHILDREN - NO
BOOKING VALID FOR-CRUISE-ONLY
AIR/SEA BOOKINGS - NO
So if you fall into the above rules on this then Yes you should be able to get this converted. As long as you are not purchasing your air through RCCL and there are no children traveling with you then RCCL should honor this rate code for you. But, since you are so close to sailing and if you purchased a higher catagory to start with, then you may not qualify for this rate since essentially you would have to cancel the original booking, which would be in penalties and then re-book at this rate. If you were outside penalties, then it would be just a matter of changing the booking over.
Good Luck, check you paper work out and see if you actually purchased the catagory Z guarantee rate if this is the actual rate you originally purchased at then you might have a chance, but if it is not, then as I stated above you would have to cancel the original booking and re-book at this rate which at this time penalties are 50% of total cost.
We didn't ask for a specific stateroom, just the cheapest one available! On our Booking for we have something that says Restrictions Not Applicable. Does that mean anything?
RCCL replied to me saying since we booked through the agents, they can't do anything!!
Carol, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it true that if the price drops the agent can get credit for the difference of the purchased cabin? I know my agent as done it and passed it on to me. I'm thinking mani8kgm's agent could very well get the money and not give any back to her. This would be another good reason for us to use a local or well know travel agent. It sounds as if mani8kgm should be talking to the people who sold her the cruise. This is an interesting thread to follow.
Actually Sonny if the price reduces and the cruiseline will agree to honor it, they reduce the price of the cruise and refund it back to the client or they give an upgrade. If the cruise has already been paid in full and close to sailing and they agree to honor the reduction, then they will refund the clients credit card and charge the agent back for the difference in the commission. Everytime I have gotten a reduction for a client that has been paid in full my company gets a charge back from the cruiseline for the difference in commission. That is probably why some agents do not want to take it on after final payment. Carnival is one that does not like to reduce price after final payment so it takes a good agent to go to bat for you, and sometimes that doesnt even work, if before final payment they will usually have you cancel the booking and rebook under the new price code. RCCL and Celebrity has always been pretty good about honoring it if there is no restriction on the new price. The best way to handle it after final, so everyone comes out good, is to get the client a good upgrade;unless the client hand picked their cabin and wants to stay where they are. The price reduction that mani8kgm is trying to get is for an inside only at a guarantee rate. So no upgrades are available. Chances are, and I am not sure but would bet on it, the agent in charge does not want to get the reduction because he will loose a significant amount of commission.
