I give you an example.
We are doing the Transatlantic cruise with the Splendour, starting november 12th in Barcelona, ending november 26 th in Houston.

We are paying for an inside stateroom on deck 7, categorie K, including airfare Dusseldorf(Germany)-Barcelona(Spain)and back Houston to Dusseldorf 1.138 Euro, thats about 910 US $.
Our friends have a special offer for this cruise in a balkony cabin also on deck 7 for 1.349 Euro, about 1.080 US $.

And yes, the repositioning cruises are much cheaper in their price than other cruises.

I have compared the prices with internet cruise specialist in the US and the price they ask is almost the same, but without the flights.

What is a repositioning cruise?

Also, You flew to Spain, sailed across the Atlantic, and flew back to Germany all for under $1,000? That inclused air?

why so cheap?

Repositioning is, when the cruiselines bring back the ships for the winter for example from Europe to the Caribbean or in the spring from the Caribbean to Europe.

You also have repositioning cruises from Alaska to Mexiko or Caribbean. These cruises are normaly cheaper.

And yes, the price I wrote, includes airfare.
But my hubby tells me now, that the difference between Euro and US $ is not longer that big. So its about 15 % less in US $ than in Euro.

Sorry I made a big mistake about the prices in Euro and in US $.

When we pay 1.138 Euro, thats in US $ 1.308.
Normally I convert from US $ into Euro and not the ohter way round.

So of course, the price in $ is higher than the price in Euro.

My apologize for this mistake, but Im going in a hospital next week for a surgical operation at my coval chord, so Im quiet nervous, because I dont know how long I cant talk.

There is only one thing which consoles me, thats the cruise in november on the Splendour.

Best regards,

I enjoy your posts. Sorry to hear about your surgery. Remember, you can always talk here and we relish what you have to say.
