Last year we cruised on Celebrity and later in the year on RCCL. We were amazed at the difference in technology on the two lines. On Celebrity, there are bridge cams as well as video cams located in the Internet Cafe. Our family was able to go to the Celebrity website and see, by the bridge cam, the ports we visited.

We used the computers in the Internet Cafe to upload the pictures from our digital camera onto their server. At the end of the cruise, we were able to download the pictures and burn them to a CD. In this way, we were able to delete the pictures from our camera and reuse the memory card. The RCCL ship did not offer this service.

We were told on the RCCL cruise that there are no plans to add bridge cams, video cams, or other computer services in the near future.

I know that Princess has bridge cams. I don't know about the other computer services available on Princess.

We did mention the issue on our comment card at the end of the cruise, along with praise for everything else that was so great about the cruise!

In fact, in five months we will be leaving for a cruise on the Radiance!

Celebrity is RCI's "upgrade" line - I suspect Royal Caribbean finds no need to offer the "upgrade" services that people pay extra (fare) to enjoy on Celebrity.
On Royal Caribbean ships, you are able to take your memory card to a kiosk in the Photo Shop, where you can burn your photos to a CD (for a nominal fee).
The bridge cam on RCCL is displayd on your cabin TV on the "distance sailed" channel.

You will really enjoy the Radiance. She is a beautiful ship!

You are right about Celebrity being the "upgrade" line. But, you know, we have been on both RCCL & Celebrity and loved them both. I know we are in the minority, but we enjoyed the food more on RCCL! We are excited about going on the Radiance. She looks beautiful! Thank you for your response.
