I have been a few ships that have the FOD parties, just check your daily newsletter and it will tell you when and where. I dont think all the ships have them, but some do.
If your plans aren't set in stone, there are gay groups that cruise together. There was a group of about 500 on our cruise on the Star Princess last Oct/Nov.
Have fun!

Hi guys, I'm also gonna be in the cruise. Have y'all decided on the excursions? I'm a certified scuba diver, but I'm also interested in the Jeep tours, the pyramids, the speed boats...
All Carnival ships sailing at least 7 days will have a time and place to meet FOD. It is not a party, but a meet and greet. Usually at the wine bar. If enough people ask, and up to the Cruise Director's decision would there be a party. The meet and greet will be listed in the Capers.
I have sailed twice with my cousin, and we go with him. Sometimes not many people, but is always nice to meet the people that show up.

Hi there, Good to here that you will be on board! We haven't decided on any of the land excursions yet. The pyramids and the cave tubing sound like fun though. We will most likely sign up for them once we get on board.
Maybe we can meet up for a cocktail once we get settled in. Bon Voyage! Mike & Bob
Just a tip. Many Cruise Directors have a "thing" about advertising "Friends of Dorothy Meetings" in the Daily Newsletter. I wish they would get over it - but just a tip. On the first day go to the library - often there is a noticeboard. Print a card inviting anyone who wishes to a FOD Social in one of the bars perhaps an hour before first sitting. You will be suprised how many people turn up - and then just use your GayDar as you move about the ship.
