Petersburg Port Guide

Petersburg Port is located in the north of Mitkof Island, Alaska. The island is mostly covered by low mountains. This town is great for fishing. This is why there are 700 different berths for fishing fleets and major cruise ships on the island. There are plenty of dining areas, shopping areas and hotels here because it has become one of the busiest ports. Guests come in for hiking, sport fishing and many activities that tourists can enjoy.

If you are an art lover, you should see the Seaport Gallery and Gifts. They have souvenir items, jewelry, woodcarvings, pottery and a lot more. For low and high end souvenirs and crafts, you can visit The Cubby Hole in Sing Lee Alley. For your choice meats and fresh produce, visit Hammer and Wikan Groceries and enjoy free transportation going to the store. Look for clothing made with Quiviut. Quiviut is hand spun wool derived from the under coat of the Arctic Musk Ox; it is lightweight, soft and eight times warmer than sheep’s wool.

Rocky’s Marine offers not only marine boating service. They also sell boating items.

The best areas to shop are in the main streets where you will find seafood, clothing, drinks, electronic items, paintings and books.

Things to Do

Restaurants and Bars

For a night out with your friends and family, you can go to Kito’s Kave and enjoy their drinks and liquor.  The restaurant also has pool tables and nice background music.
