Seward Port FAQ

Seward Port is an active fishing port that's also home to several cruise ships. The port is located on Resurrection Bay. Even though Seward is a small community of about 3000, it's well-connected to the rest of Alaska by means of the railroad, regular bus service, and the Seward Highway.

    The port does not offer overnight parking. Most passengers arrive via shuttle service.

4. How do You get to the Cruise Port?

    It's easiest to get to the port by taxi, trolley or shuttle service arranged by the cruise line.

    Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Princess use this port.

6. What's the Nearest Airport to the Cruise Port?

    Kenai Municipal Airport and Ted Steven Airport are a little over an hours' drive away. Anchorage Airport is 3 1/2 hours away by car, 2 1/2     by railroad.

7. What Attractions are Near the Cruise Port?

Plenty of outdoor adventures await. Denali National Park and Kenai Fjords National Park can easily be reached as part of an organized     charter boat tour. If you'd like to stay a little closer  to the port, Mt. Marathon offers good hiking opportunities. The Seward River is         great for kayaking, and fishing enthusiasts will be able to easily find halibut and salmon.

Seward itself has several interesting attractions, including a section of historic homes called Millionaire's Row. You might also be pleased to know that seward has an aquarium called Alaska seaLife Center, where you can see marine life up close.

8. What Hotels are Near the Cruise Port?

The closest hotel is the Breeze Inn. Other local options include The Harborview Inn, Van Gilder Hotel, Hotel Seward, and Best Western        Edgewater Hotel. All of these provide comfortable lodging with good amenities.

9. What Restaurants and Shops are Near the Cruise Port?

Seward has several restaurants to suit any dining taste. Apollo serves interesting Greek dishes, Christo's serves pizza amidst interesting     decor, Ray's Waterfront serves seafood, and Chinooks Waterfront serves seafood with steak.

Several small stores accomodate the needs of shoppers. Souvenir T-shirt hunters are sure to be pleased with Breeze T's. Resurrect Art      Coffee House Gallery offers a chance at viewing great local artwork over hot cappucinos. Miller's Landing is a one-stop location for those     who need fishing or other outdoor supplies.

10. Are Ships Docked at the Port, or are Passengers Ferried from the Port to the Ship?

At Seward port, the ships are docked, and the cruise dock itself is easily visible upon arrival.
