Princess Cays Port Guide

As a port of call, Princess Cays offers up a day-long private beach party filled with family fun and activities galore for the fortunate passengers of Princess Cruise Lines. Located at the southern end of the small island of Eleuthera approximately 30 miles from Nassau, Bahamas, Princess Cays has a full range of activities for every age and interest. With its sub-tropical temperatures and mangrove forests surrounding the white sand beaches, you have truly found paradise. While small, only 2 miles wide x 110 miles long, not everything can be taken in in only one day so guests should try to plan ahead to make the most of their short stay here. Plan wisely as all tours that are booked or sports equipment rented are on a "No Refund" basis. Ships anchor 2 miles offshore and passengers are tendered to the Love Boat Marina, where they are greeted with an array of tropical fruits to enjoy and a calypso band playing calypso and reggae music. The Tourist Information Center is located here and will guide you to wherever your interest takes you.

Things to See

The Sports Pier has everything needed to make the most of your water fun experience. Equipment rentals range from floating mats to jet skis, Hobie Cat and Sunfish sailboats, aqua bikes to transparent-hull kayaks, paddle-wheelers and banana boats to snorkeling gear. Parasailing is also available and gives the adventurous a birds-eye view of the crystal waters and pristine beaches. Note that rental prices range from $9.00/hour and up, depending on equipment.

Volleyball and basketball courts are available, along with a special children's area where age-appropriate activities abound. Or, just kick back and relax in one of the numerous padded lounge chairs or hammocks.

For a cultural experience, take a 4 hour tour in air-conditioned comfort that passes through quaint villages, some that date back to the 1800's, and visit libraries and museums. There are photo stops along the way and a meal is provided. Prices range from $99.00 for adults to reduced prices for children 12 and under.

A Glass-Bottom Boat tour, which lasts approximately one hour, is a great way to experience the wonders of the coral reef that surround the island. Informational cards line the rails to help you identify the species of fish and vegetation seen.

Grab a hat and the sunscreen and enjoy a 2 1/2 hour deep sea fishing expedition. You're guaranteed to see fish; however, catching them is up to you and the fish! This is strictly a catch and release program and only for the 13 and up age group.

Restaurants and Bars

Lunch is provided at 2 open-air barbecues, serving up authentic Bahamian fare which includes hamburgers, chicken, bratwurst, salads and plenty of fresh fruits. Water, tea and lemonade are complimentary with the meal, but for those who desire something a little stronger there are 3 bars available. A full staff of drink servers cater to guests. To complete the dining experience, live entertainment is also provided.
