Naples Port Guide

There is a store below the Piazza Del Gesu facing Duomo in the center of Naples in Spaccanapoli; it frequented visited by both tourists and university students. There are also many outdoor markets in Naples where local residents do their shopping. In the food market of the famous Montesanto area, you can smell the aroma of tasty fruits, fresh vegetables and sweet treats. You will be tempted to taste the delicious and popular chocolates in the Gay Odin Chocolate shop located on Via Toledo.

Things to See

Naples is rich in amazing historical sights. The Castel Nuovo/Maschio Angioino is the civic museum of Naples. The most visited site in Naples is the ruins of Pompeii. It was completely destroyed by a first century volcanic eruption; the whole town was  covered by the volcanic ash of Mt. Vesuvius and the entire population perished. A visit to Pompeii gives every traveler a real flavor of the ancient era. As you walk in each street, you will see old homes and stores and feel as though you are in 79 AD. It is also amazing to see the world’s largest Roman amphitheater. This Pompeii attraction is wonderful and unbelievably large. The town of Herculaneum is also one of the best preserved ruins; it was also devastated by the same volcanic eruption.

Restaurant and Bars

Visit the popular Pizzeria Aurora in Sorrento for an excellent dining experience. It is located at Sorrento’s historical center. The restaurant has an inviting ambiance, is air conditioned and offers reasonable prices. Observant guests may notice parts of the historical Castle Square in the restaurant’s structure. A variety of local dishes are served along with typical Mediterranean cuisines. The mouth watering taste and smell of fresh “seafood” and homemade “gnnochi” lends fame to the restaurant. Sorrento’s Pizzeria Aurora serves 50 different types of pizza.
