The mystical town of Puerto Chiapas Port is formerly known as San Benito and Puerto Madero and situated in southern Soconusco, Mexico along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Well preserved archaeological sites regularly amaze visitors. Explore the ancient Mayan, Izapa and Olmec ruins, where vibrant colored murals offer a preview to these ancient civilizations; many inscriptions are yet to be deciphered.

The Sanocnusco Archaeological Museum, located near the Municipal Palace highlights the collection of a number of different archaeological finds. There is also the 90 minutes drive to the Sierra Madre Mountains of Chiapas where you will discover good quality coffees at the Argovia Plantation and Estate. This coffee plantation is one of the oldest coffee producers in the region. It has preserved its beautiful old buildings and houses and has an ongoing reforestation project. Aside from coffee, it also has a variety of ornamental flowers. The estate also offers delicious buffet lunches of Mexican dishes and the freshest cups of coffee. Guests are advised to wear comfortable clothes, hat and shoes.
