Souvenirs from Fuerte Amador Port are best purchased from local markets. Crafts made by local Kuna natives are especially popular. These include handcrafted items made with a reverse applique called "molas." The seawall area in Casco Viejo is a good place to find vendors selling these items. The Panama Viejo and Balboa markets sell a good deal of native handcrafts. If you visit the Flamenco Shopping Center, you'll find many independently owned stores selling souvenirs, crafts and boutique items. The Fuerte Amador Mall is a good place to buy duty-free jewelry, including items locally made.
