Bayonne Port is a located in the east end of the Bayonne peninsula in New Jersey. Formally known as Cape Liberty Cruise Port it was also once known as the Military Ocean Terminal Bayonne. The port is around 3 miles from the city of Newark and 7 miles from Manhattan.
The port was created in the 1930s on a 430 acre site in what was then Lower New York (but now a manmade peninsula in Bayonne, New Jersey). The initial purpose of the site was to create an industrial zone by private developers.
