The Tampa Bay Rays baseball team’s home stadium is Tropicana Field in neighboring St. Petersburg. It has 1.1 million square feet and features a 35 foot, 10,000 gallon rays touch tank located just beyond the right-center field fence. It was built in conjunction with the Florida Aquarium and 50 visitors at a time will be permitted to visit the tank. If a player hits a ball into the tank during a game, $5,000 will be donated to charity ($2,500 to the Florida Aquarium and $2,500 to the player’s charity of choice).
