Number of Cruises: 10
Cruise Line: Celebrity
Ship: Galaxy
Sailing Date: November 3rd, 2003
Itinerary: Eastern Caribbean
Our cruise on the Galaxy was or third Celebrity
cruise; Previous ships were the Meridian & Horizon when owned by Chandris. The
service, food & attention to detail have declined since Royal Caribbean acquired
the line, but the price of liquor, bottled water & a bottle of wine with dinner
will add $100 per day to your cruise.
The port of Baltimore is convenient but has no provisions to accommodate passengers when ships are later arriving. You park your car & wait for buses to pick up passengers or return after sightseeing the "Beautiful Dundalk" section of Baltimore. Parking is $7 /day (cash only). When arriving by limo or bus, you are dropped at parking lot & left seating on your luggage while disembarking passengers are transported; late ship arrivals & disembarkation seems to be the norm for Baltimore. Scheduled boarding 2:30 PM but boarded at 5:00 PM to complimentary champagne
We found the entertainment, movies & activities above average; we found the $10 martinis in the martini bar excellent but serve then with canapés not breadsticks.
Our return to Baltimore was scheduled for 10:00 AM; We disembarked at 6:00 PM, Then the nightmare of finding our luggage, a porter to move the luggage to a bus which would transport us to a dark unmarked parking lot & your on your own to find & load you car.
