The Carnival Ecstacy, registered in Panama, was launched in 1991. The Ecstacy accommodates 2,052 passengers and a crew of 920. The Ecstacy is the perfect ship for families with children, passengers who are cruising for the first time, and singles. Ecstacy has two elegant dining rooms, The Wind Star and The Wind Song. Four dinner seatings are available and passengers are assigned tables. Carnival is known for its excellent cuisine, and Ecstacy is no exception. A choice of six starters, two salads, and and six entrees are available are every evening. Entrees include selections like Beef Wellington. Carnival Spa selections are on the menu for those who prefer healthier options. The Lido poolside snack areas convert to bistros every evening and serve buffet-style food with no reservations needed. During the renovations a new coffee bar was added in the atrium and a New York-style deli in the Lido. Ecstacy also serves pizza 24 hours a day, and has a complimentary sushi bar.
Entertainment and Nightlife
The Blue Sapphire Lounge Theater is the spot for live entertainment every evening. Production shows, comedians, magicians, and even talent shows featuring passengers are just some of the venues. Stripes Dance Club has nightly karaoke, and the Starlight Lounge and Chinatown Disco feature a variety of live dance music. The Neon Bar has a circular piano for passengers who like to sit at the piano and sing along. After dinner, check out the slots in the ship's casino.
The demi-suites and full suites on Ecstacy are the only ones with balconies. Staterooms on smaller Carnival ships have been renovated to include flatscreen TVs with CNN, phones, and radio. Oceanview stateroons include large bathrooms and mini bars. Cabins accommodating four to five passengers are reserved quickly by families.
Ecstacy's gym has a private trainer, state-of-the-art equipment, and aerobics and yoga classes. A jogging track and volleyball court are also available. Special attention is paid to kids on the ship with the Camp Carnival program offering activities supervised by trained staff, pool parties, and movies. Children's World has games, toys, puzzles, a computer lab, and a climbing maze. A new nine-hole miniature golf course and Carnival Waterworks, the new waterpark complete with a 300 foot waterslide have been added. The "adults only" deck features comfortable loungers and two hot tubs.
A $10 per day per person is automatically added to each passenger's bill. Gratuities may be paid in advance. This is compulsory on Cruises-to-Nowhere. A 15% gratuity is automatically added to each passenger's beverage tab.
