Carnival Legend Cruise Ship

The Carnival Legend holds the distinction of being the first of Carnivals ships to offer flexible dining. This large ship was built in 2002, as part of the Carnival’s Spirit line, and was refurbished in 2008. The Legend has 1,062 staterooms and a crew of 930. This cruise ship measures 963 feet in length.


The Carnival Legend features a 2-level promenade. This, along with its impressive 9-level Colossal Atrium makes the ship seem rather opulent. The Legend is full of several shopping, nightlife and dining options. Most of the ships staterooms have ocean views, many of those feature private balconies. Some of the kid friendly, features of the Legend are the 3 deck high, Twister Waterslide and the teen nightclub (Club O2).


Truffles Restaurant, the Legend’s formal dining room, can accommodate 1,250 people. This is where you would go to be experience Carnival’s traditional, cruise-style dining. Passengers are given a choice of early or late seating. Other dining options include the Unicorn Café (a poolside restaurant), the Legends Café, a pizzeria and 24 hour room service. A nightly buffet is served in the Unicorn Café which features a traditional salad bar, deli, and specialty selections that change nightly. The ship also offers a more upscale dining option, the Golden Fleece supper club. Keep in mind that reservations are required for this restaurant.

Entertainment and Nightlife

There are many nightlife options to choose from including the Medusa’s Lair dance club, the Dream Team sports bar, the Atlantis Lounge, and Billie’s Piano Bar. The Ship also offers nightly, spectacular performances at the Follies, the Legend’s main show lounge.


The Carnival Legend has a variety of cabins to choose from. Options include inside staterooms, ocean view cabins, balcony cabins and suites. The cabins are equipped with television, telephone, thermostat controlled air-conditioning and a personal safe. Bathrooms are nicely appointed with terrycloth robes and a good selection of toiletries. Cabins size range from 185 square feet for a standard cabin up to 300 square feet for a penthouse suite.


The Legend has a wonderful, ocean-view spa and workout center fully equipped with treadmills, stationary bikes, rowing machines, stairclimbers and free weights. There are also many work-out classes to choose from including yoga, stretching, and spinning classes. Treatment services are offered in the 10 private spa rooms.

Noah’s Ark, the ships kid friendly area, is divided into 3 different sections. There’s a computer area equipped with educational software and video games, an arts and crafts area and a play area complete with toys and games.

Onboard Fees

For internet access there is a $3.95 activation fee then the basic rate of 75 cents per minute. There is the option to purchase a group of minutes in advance with rates ranging from 40 cents to 55 cents per minute.

There is a 30 dollar charge per person at the Golden Fleece Supper Club.  This will be automatically posted to your onboard account. Children are not allowed at this restaurant.
