Carnival Splendor Cruise Ship

Carnival Splendor, one of the ships in the Destiny Class, accommodates 1,487 passengers and a crew of 1,150. The Splendor is an excellent choice for passengers seeking a high energy cruise with lot of singles who enjoy nightlife; and features numerous children's programs for families onboard. Cabins can accommodate three to four passengers. Many cabins with balconies are available, since this is one of the largest ships in Carnival's fleet.

Cuisine

The Black Pearl and the Gold Pearl are the two main dining rooms. Breakfast and lunch buffets are served in the Grand Buffet Restaurant, and the Chic Dining Room. Other dishes can be made to order. The Promotheus Lido changes its seafood and Asian dishes daily. Pizza and salad can be ordered 24 hours a day. Splendor's new concept of "anytime dining" allows guests to dine anytime, even in larger groups.  A deli serves lighter lunch fare, and the Rotisserie Grill is new. A burger and hot dog station is on the stern pool deck, and stations for coffee, tea, lemonade, and ice cream are scattered around the ship. The Sun King Supper Club features a combo playing near the small dance floor. The cuisine at the club is superb.

Entertainment and Nightlife

Carnival Splendor has 22 bars and lounges. The Cinn-A-Bar, a sing-along piano bar, and the White Heat Disco are popular night spots. The Amber Palace is the venue for fantastic production shows and comedians. The Robusto Bar is one of the most elegant on the ship. "Splendid, Splendid" is the main showroom.The Oceanview wine bar and the Royal Flush Casino are on Deck 5, where you'll also find The Cool, the Red Carpet Dance Club, and El Mojito. The El Morocco Show Lounge got its inspiration from "Casablanca." Several boutiques sell duty-free items.

Cabins

One feature exclusive to Splendor, is the new section of Spa Cabins. A private deck with pool and hot tubs is available for guests in these cabins. The cabins are large, and many have their own balconies. Ocean View cabins and suites have robes and mini bars. Inside cabins are great for larger groups, and families can book cabins close to the children's center. Standard amenities include color TV with CNN, ESPN, and a variety of movies. Some handicapped cabins are available.

Recreation

Carnival Splendor has expanded its facilities for the kids, and includes a children's pool, a mini-theater for movies, and an indoor playground. The ship boasts four swimming pools, and a new health club. The Splendor has the largest spa of any Carnival ships, the Cloud 9 Spa. The Seaside Theater movie screen is inside the Sky Dome, and is used for daytime and evening showings.The same technology used for stadium sized screens is used for the Seaside Theater. The ship also includes "The Web," an internet cafe.

Fees

The standard Carnival gratuity of $10.00 per day per person applies, with the exception of children under two. A 15% charge is automatically added to beverage bills. Cruises-to-Nowehre require a prepaid gratuity.

Taking the Kids

The extensive program for children accommodates kids between the ages of 2 and 17. The activity room for kids 2-11 as PS2's, Xbox's, toys, and games. Circle C is for kids 12-14, and kids 15-17 have their own area.
