Zaandam Cruise Ship

Cruise goers will have a grand time on board Zaandam Cruise Ship as they embark on some of the most exciting destinations in the world such as Alaska, Hawaii, the Mexican Riviera and the Pacific Northwest. Launched in 2000 and named after a Dutch town, Zaandam was built to carry fewer passengers while providing plenty of space for maximum comfort. As a mid-sized ship, Zaandam provides roomy public places and luxurious accommodations.

The design and layout of the ship is similar to other Statendam vessels. One of the key areas of Zaandam is the three-deck Atrium located at the heart of the ship which opens onto three Promenade decks. It features a Murano-glass sculpture and a massive pipe organ. The 63,000 ton vessel can accommodate up to 1,440 passengers. There are a total of 10 passenger decks, 12 passenger elevators, and 18 public rooms.

The Cabins

All of the staterooms on board Zaandam are roomy and comfortable, although only a few of them feature a balcony. But each of the cabins has ample closet, drawer, and bathroom shelves space. There are whirlpool tubs, powder room, and walk-in closets in some of the suites. Some of the amenities found in the suite include a mini bar, duvets on beds, and personalized stationery. For the ultimate treat, you may want to stay at the Penthouse Verandah or Deluxe Verandah Suites where you’ll be provided with personal concierge service, laundry and dry cleaning services, and even an invitation to a private party with the ship’s captain.

Things to Do

There are plenty of activities to choose from on the Zaandam. For a relaxing time, head over to the Grennhouse Spa & Salon where you can enjoy a facial, hot stone massage, steam in a thermal suite and a nice manicure.

For a wide array of fun entertainment, the place to go is the Mondriaan Show Lounge which features singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and so much more. But if you want to avoid the crowd and have a quiet cocktail and pleasant conversation before dinner, head over to the Main Lounge. Later in the evening, exciting Broadway inspired production will be featured in the lounge which boasts of state of the art stage, ceilings, lighting and seating.

Guests will also be treated with an iPod self-guided tour of the Zaandam art collection, which includes guitars signed by popular artists such as the Rolling Stones. One of the most interesting pieces of the collection is a saxophone autographed by former President Bill Clinton.

Restaurants and Bars

The best place for casual dining is the Lido restaurant where waiters serve made-to-order entrees. If your taste buds call for Sterling Silver beef, seafood dishes and nice wines, head over to the reservations-only restaurant Pinnacle Grill. But the ideal place for dancing and late night cocktails is over at the Crows Nest.
