Flashier than her predecessors, Zuiderdam was the first ship in Holland America’s innovative Vista class. The ship was designed in an effort to attract the younger age group of cruise goers who want to discover exciting destinations in the Caribbean. With a total of 11 passenger decks, Zuiderdam is adorned with a flashy color scheme and youthful sensibility as a result of its refurbishment in 2008.
One of the key areas is the triple deck atrium adorned with exquisite Waterford crystal sculptures. During her renovation, more cabins were added by extending the upper decks outward. The 85,000 ton, 951 feet long vessel can accommodate up to 1,848 passengers. There are a total of 800 welcoming and dedicated crews attending to your every cruising need.
The cabins are comfortable and spacious. Most of the Vista-style accommodations feature an ocean view, while some of them have private balcony equipped with chairs, loungers, and tables. All of the cabins have spacious closet, drawer shelf and bathroom shelves. When you stay at the Suites, you’ll have a whirlpool tub, a walk-in closet and a powder room. Suites are also equipped with a fully stocked mini bar and duvets on beds.
