Regatta Cruise Ship

Oceania Cruises launched the Regatta cruise ship in 2003.  It is a mid-sized ship offering people who love to go on cruise with a unique and luxurious experience at sea.  There are more than 350 crew members attending to less than 700 passengers, making their services more personalized and intimate.  The ship's ambiance is relaxed, casual and homely, yet elegant in its entirety with its soft carpeting, rich mahogany interiors and rich display of flower arrangements.

Most comments about Regatta cruises are good especially in the foods they serve, the comfortable amenities and their excellent choices of destinations.  There are a few customers however, who are not satisfied with the services they received from the staff during their cruise adventure.

Cuisine

The Terrace Cafe is frequented by passengers for a casual breakfast.  It has a sunny and lively atmosphere, and it is close to the pool deck.  Staff are accommodating and friendly and the foods are also good.

There are dinner-only specialty restaurants that passengers could try after they have made their reservations.  The Polo Grill offers steaks and a selection of seafood delicacies.  The Tuscana, which has a stunning view of the ocean offers Italian cuisine.  The Tapas on the Terrace, which was the Terrace Cafe in the morning, serves food buffet style.

They also have room service with a limited selection of food in the menu.

Cabins

There are a total of 340 cabins inside the Regatta ship which include 314 suite cabins and 26 inside cabins.  Inside cabins are small and cozy, with a small bathroom, a love seat, a coffee table and desk chair inside.  Each of these cabins have television sets, satellite telephones and internet access for a fee.  The suite cabins on the other hand are larger and with greater amenities.  They come with entertainment centers, well-stocked minibars, pre-dinner canapes every night and daily butler service.  Bathrooms have marbled floors with bathtubs and some even have whirlpools.

Entertainment and Nightlife

There's a nightly entertainment going on at the Horizons with cool jazz music and dances, plus an excellent performance by the string quartet.  A small Casino offers are a number of slot machines and poker tables to choose from.  It is a no smoking area, so patrons who smoke can go to designated smoking areas provided in the ship.

Recreation

There's an outdoor pool for those who loves to swim as well as a spa offering different kinds of facial treatments and body massages.  A hair salon is also open to cater to passengers' needs.

Duty-free shops are also open selling a variety of apparels with the cruise ship logo, and a variety of items such as scarves, bathing suits, bags, perfumes and jewellery.

Onboard Fees

Internet hook up in your room has a fee of $25 plus additional dial up fees (.95 per minute).  There is a do it yourself laundry facility which charges $3 per load.  The lines are long for this service so it is more advantageous to use the onboard laundry service (which also has dry cleaning).  Facials will cost anywhere from $59-99 and massages from $39 for a foot massage to $159 for a full massage.  A bottle of Evian water will cost $3.00.

Taking the Kids

The ship doesn’t have amenities for the entertainment of children during the cruise.  The only recreations available for kids are the swimming pool area and the television sets in each cabins.
