Thomson Celebration Cruise Ship

MS Thomson Celebration, owned by Holland America Line, was originally named as MS Noordam when it was built in 1984. The Thomson Celebration ship got its present name in 2005. With its 9 decks and 520 crew, the Thomson Celebration ship can accommodate around 1,200 to 1,350 passengers. Over the years, the friendliness of the staff in the MS Thomson Celebration has easily captured the hearts of British travelers.


Taking a cruise with MS Thomson Celebration became even more appealing with the amount of open space on the top decks in the Thomson Celebration cruise ship. It will give the opportunity to experience the feeling of being on land and in water at the same time.


Several dining establishments are housed inside the MS Thomson Celebration cruise ship to satisfy. The primary dining center is the Meridian on Deck 4, noted for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere and attentive and polite waiters. The distinction of being the gem of the ship is in the Zilli restaurant, featuring Italian cuisine by celebrity Chef Aldo Zilli. While dining at this Italian specialty restaurant, you should take advantage of their meat and fish dishes, as well as their desserts such as the chocolate brownies. Early bookings or reservations with the Zilli restaurant are highly encouraged. 

You might want to grab the 24-hour buffet service on a top deck with the Lido Restaurant, while being entertained by a pianist and a violinist during the evenings. They also serve salads, soups, steaks, vegetarian dishes, ice creams and desserts.  You can ask for wines, newspapers, or other special package inclusions.

Entertainment and Nightlife

Other public rooms are also available to make sure you will have a wonderful experience. Some of the most frequented public rooms of MS Thomson Celebration are the Hemingway's Bar and Casino on Deck 5, Broad Street Shops, Broadway Show Lounge, and the Explorers and Browsers Internet Cafe. 

The Internet cafe inside MS Thomons Celebration has a library and four web stations. You can also enjoy solitude in the card and reading room. Indulge in a shopping escapade at the Broad Street Shops. For after-dinner drinks, you can go to Horizons in Deck 9. 

You can participate in the daily activities and watch big productions at the Broadway Show Lounge. These activities and productions include musical shows, dance classes, house bands, and late-night disco. You can watch movies in the 230-seater cinema along the Explorer's Lounge.


MS Thomson Celebration has four major cabin types. Cabins with wheelchair accessibility are also available. The cruise ship also has cabins specifically designed for singles.

The suites are very nice and similar to modern hotel rooms. Fresh fruits and flowers are placed in the suites everyday and towelling robes are also a regular feature. The bathrooms are not particularly impressive but are rather functional and clean.


Relax and replenish your energy at the Oceans Spa and Salon, which also offers workshops and seminars, yoga sessions, aerobics and Pilates. You can bring your kids to the Kidzone where the youngsters will be divided into three groups according to their age. Although most of the frequent passengers are British couples, aged 55 to 75, it also caters to singles, groups and families.

Onboard Fees

All gratuities are already included in the price of the cruise but you are encouraged to give an extra amount if you feel that you have received extra special service. 

The ship operates on a cashless system which is opened when you first board the vessel. All extra fees are charged to your room and reconciled at the end of the cruise. There is a slight extra charge if you use credit cards instead.
