Pride of America Cruise ship is an Americana-themed elegant vessel. The ship is known as the Pride of America because it is the first cruise ship, in more than 50 years, to bear a U.S. flag. Passengers aboard will be able to feel the American spirit in every public room; they are decorated to suggest regions and cities across the U.S. In fact, over at the stair tower landings you will find a massive photographic mural depicting the natural wonders of America.


The interiors of Pride of America are adorned with many American inspired art works. For example, while ascending the grand staircase on your way to the Hawaii Museum, you’ll be able to see a miniature Washington Monument replica. Pride o America is the favorite among cruise goers who would love to see and experience the exotic beauty of Hawaii. It also attracts active travelers who want to participate in various onshore activities. In fact, the ship spends about 96 hours in port.


The best thing about Pride of America when it comes to food is that guests can dine anytime and anywhere they choose. The ship has a total of nine restaurants, two of which (Liberty and Skyline) are the main dining rooms. Other great alternative dining venues are Little Italy and the Lido Deck cafeteria.

Entertainment and Nightlife

The entertainment options on board Pride of America are excellent. Hawaiian dancers are brought onboard and the main venue for entertainment is the Hollywood Theater which features a couple of Broadway style productions and performer. One of the most attended events is the Karaoke held at the Gold Rush Saloon. For those who love to dance the night away, Mardi Gras Nightclub is the place to go.


Generally speaking, the staterooms on board the ship are small, but each stateroom is well designed and adorned with gleaming wood cabinetry and paneling accents. This creates a cheery and colorful ambience that reflects the festive Hawaiian atmosphere. Some of the amenities in the cabins include a small refrigerator, tea and coffee maker, a personal safe, a hair dryer and telephone with voice mail. Guests staying in one of the suites can make use of the butler service.


The ship has a bungee trampoline over at the pool deck. Pride of America also features a well-stocked library that has cozy seating and a great collection of ocean-liner memorabilia. The library is considered as one of the finest libraries at sea. The ship also provides a well-equipped spa which is a fitness buff’s dream. The Santa Fe Spa and Fitness Center is complete with exercise equipments and offers various relaxing treatments. There are walking and jogging spots as well aboard.

The recommended total amount of gratuity per person a day is $10 for adults and $5 for the kids.

Taking the Kids

The ship offers various kids’ programs such as the Rascal’s Kid’s Club. Children can also take part in the Mardi Gras celebration, which lasts until 11 p.m.
