The Island Princess Cruise Ship has generously sized staterooms, 90% of which have a view of the ocean making the Island Princess ship one of the most coveted floating resorts by frequent port hoppers.
Island Princess reviews are quite enthusiastic about the ship’s service and the ambiance inside the ship. The state of the art facilities will more fully delight those who are bit harder to please.
Whether passengers are cruising in the Panama Canal or going to frosty Alaska, the frequent port hopper will love the food onboard the Island Princess. Personal dining is what is practiced onboard the Island Princess, with the freedom to choose where, when and with whom they eat dinner, lunch or breakfast with.
For snacks and meals round the clock, visit the Horizon Court; a casual restaurant that serves a buffet except when there is a Bistro menu. Table service is offered but for those who want to dine near the pool, there is a grill and pizza counter situated near the poolside.
For those who want to experience traditional and assigned dinner seating going to Provence is the answer. For those who do not like traditional mariner dining, the slightly bigger Bordeaux has open seating.
For alternative dining, experience the savory Italian dishes served at Sabatini’s Trattoria. The menu is a delight for food lovers and passengers can feast on gnocchi, gamberi, and prosciutto for starters. The main courses and the desserts are as delectable and it’s at a very reasonable price.
The Bayou Café offers regional cuisine such as gumbo ya-ya, sweet potato pie and gator ribs. The alternative restaurant has live jazz music; it is known to be loud.
Entertainment and Nightlife
The island Princess Cruise has scholarship at sea classes for those who want to learn a few things about the port stops the cruise will be encountering. At the Universe Lounge, professional cooking demos are done. There are pottery classes and photography seminars as well.
Come nighttime, the musical “Tribute” transforms the Universe Lounge into a stage while the Princess Theater offer various shows. The lounges onboard also have entertainment sometimes with stand up comedy or magic acts. Those fond of dancing should go straight to the disco.
Get some pampering at the Lotus Spa located at the 14th deck. The spa has an Asian theme and the whole ambiance is relaxing on its own. There is a sanctuary inside the Lotus Spa where clients can lie back and relax on a heated lounge. Apart from the spa’s rejuvenating massages, it also has tropical rain showers with a choice between “cold mist” and “rain storm”. For those a bit sensitive about traffic, it is important to note that the spa is open from both ends and people going to the pool or the gym walk around the spa.
There are 2 swimming pools located near the spa and if swimming sounds fun, go right ahead and put that swimsuit or swimming trunks on.
Going to the spa and attending classes have fees. Other facilities such as the gym have fees as well. For more information on onboard fees, it is better to ask the travel agency for details.
