Grand Cayman
EASTERN LAND AND SEA
EXPERIENCE
$69 Per Person (6 1/2 Hours)
You have the benefit of the best guide on the
island telling tales as he takes you for a glimpse into the old time
Cayman lifestyle. Among your stops, as you tour the historic Eastern
districts, will be the traditional Watler's Cemetery at Old Prospect and a
trip to Grand Cayman's original capital, Bodden Town, believed to have
been used by pirates. Unmarked graves supposedly mark where they lie.
This is a wonderful ride along the scenic South coast, which culminates in
a visit to picturesque East End. Along the way, you will also see the blow
holes, waterspouts that rise above the coral rock in unusual patterns as
water is funnelled along passages in the rock when the waves roll in.
If time allows, you'll make it to the famous Rum Point, a remote area
filled with a surprising amount of activity. Nearby is Cayman Kai, one of
the most lavish residential areas on the island and, after a drive
through, you will head back a bit to a lovely spot for a picnic and a
snorkel off the beach.
If you hear a crack while you are in the water, it's probably your guide
opening a local snack, fresh coconut, just for you.
