 St. Maarten/St. Martin

PIRATE SHIP SNORKEL ADVENTURE
$67 Per Person

The trip starts the minute you board this boat. You will be able to tell the tone of this trip as soon as the "safety speech" begins. Yes, it is informative but if you thought you could turn your ear the other way, you will be sorry because the script is as entertaining as it comes.

Drinks are served and then the motor is on for a short 100 yard span while you get yourself out of the harbor. The sails are then dropped and you are underway along coastline of St. Maarten all the way to the exotic "French side" where we anchor off one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.

The sail is about 2 relaxing hours long. During this time, expect to see the sails unfurled but not without help. It is usually a couple of female crewmembers who actually climb the masts and go out on the yards. Quite a sight!

Don't get the wrong idea, though. You will see that this is the perfect trip for youngsters as soon as the ship drops anchor and you begin your water play. Snorkel gear comes out for all and instruction is available upon request. You can jump right off the bowsprit and swim to the beach about 300 feet away if you like. You may just decide to grab one of the floating foam noodles and relax in the water with your Heineken. Expect to play for about an hour before you get back on board for the trip home.

Here is another source of entertainment as the spread is produced. Now that you have worked up an appetite, you can expect to find a buffet of BBQ ribs, smoked oysters, cheeses, French bread (of course), and assorted fruits. The open bar includes sodas, juices, beer, wine, liquor, and the Caribbean's oft-served rum punch.

Motoring home will probably produce a few yawns, a short nap, and complete satisfaction of the day.
