ANIMALS AND MINERALS IN BARBADOS
$65 Per Person
Your tour starts out at Harrisons Cave, one of Barbados's favorite
places to visit. Here you will board a tram for a comfortable ride
through this sub-surface phenomenon is said to be the only one of its
kind in the Caribbean. It wasn't until 1970 that a speleologist named
Ole Sorensen discovered a new and interesting section of the cave, now
called the Crystal Cavern. As surface water seeped through the limestone
rock over millions of years, it carved out this magnificent series of
caverns packed with underground streams and waterfalls, stalagmites and
stalactites.
From Harrison's Caves, you'll drive up the island's green hills and down
to the charming little village of Bathsheba. This sleepy town is best
known for its rough seas and dramatic ocean-carved cliffs. Keep your
camera ready for some unforgettable scenery.
No trip to Barbados would be complete without a visit to the Wildlife
Reserve, home of the green tailed monkey. Walk the footpaths to see
entire families of monkeys, young ones at play, mothers keeping an eye
on things, fathers looking for food. In addition to the monkeys, you
will also view exotic animals, reptiles and birds.
A glimpse of the Morgan Lewis windmill is also on the itinerary
