A great but tiring trip. Many wonderful stops but planning ahead is critical as time in most of the ports is short.

We had two connecting Concierge class rooms and have done this before on a sister ship. This size room is fine for a trip of this length for 2 people. I would never consider putting more than 2 people in a room this size for a trip of this length.

GERMANY: Don't bother with Berlin -- from what several passengers were saying, it is a long, long day. We took a "Friends Of Dave" tour of Warnermunde and Schwerin. I strongly recommend a visit to Schwerin and its castle... the town and castle are wonderful and make for an incredible day. No need to book a tour... you can easily take the train from Warnermunde and go to the Schwerin central station.

STOCKHOLM: They don't give enough time for this location as it is a large city--- so, you definitely need to plan ahead and make the most of your time. - Old Town Stockholm -- ignore it and look elsewhere. Way overcrowded, touristy and nothing special. - Vasa Museum - do this, and you won't regret it. BUT - go first thing as it gets very crowded as the day progresses. Take the water taxi directly from the cruise ship pier to the museum. You can later take another water taxi into town. - Downtown Stockholm - very worthwhile and a pleasant and clean city. Spend some time on the pedestrian street. - Island Archipelago -- whatever you do, make sure to devote time looking over these islands as your ship comes in and out of Stockholm. Over 10,000 islands and it is beautiful.

HELSINKI: My advice - don't do any excursions. Just take the cruise line provided bus into downtown Helsinki. It is an enjoyable city with many parks and sights. - Rock Church - don't bother... very crowded and not that much to see. - Lutheran Church in the central square - worthwhile. - Finish Orthodox Church - very beautiful and worth visiting. - Outdoor market - very enjoyable -- stay a while and have some reindeer sausage.

ST. PETERSBURG: We opted to spend extra bucks and take a private car tour provided by Celebrity. Expensive but very worth while. While we watched numerous large and exhausted tour groups trying to muddle through the crowds - for us, it was just the three of us and our private guide and we were able to have exactly the tour we wanted and at the pace which fit us.

TALLINN: Don't bother with any shore excursions -- the ship is not here very long. Just take the cruise line provided bus and walk from there into both old town and also go into the newer part of town as there is some great shopping. While in old town a do-not-miss place for lunch is the Old Hansa Restaurant... an absolute delight.

COPENHAGEN: We did not do any shore excursions.. sort of wish we had done so as I had wanted to see some of the castles. Copenhagen is just okay but still some enjoyable strolling. Definitely go to the palace area to view the changing of the guards and go to the top of the old observatory which is on the main pedestrian street.
